What size inner tube do I need?
This article is a suppliment to the video tutorial below. It contains extra details on various parts of the tutorial. Watch the video and should you need further info, read this article. Also feel free to email us via our contact us page.
What do the numbers on the side of my tyre mean?
As the tutorial video says you can work out the size of tube you need by looking at the numbers on the side of your tyre. There are two sets of numbers which basically equate to the same thing in that they refer to the same measurements. The first set of numbers in the image are basically the ISO standard for measuring tyres and the second set are the traditional measurements.
1) 54mm Tyre Width - ISO standard measurements
2) 559mm Tyre Diameter - ISO standard measurements
3) 26inch Tyre Diameter - Traditional measurements
4) 2.1inch Tyre Width - Traditional measurements

What valve types are there?
As the video refers to the valve types, the two most common are specified (Presta and Schrader) but older inner tubes also have woods valves. These have a thread similar to a presta valve but also have a removable core similar to a Schrader.
